Brown's double-double lands him Liga MB Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

American Forward Kordell Brown (203-F) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Ahuachapan BC and receives a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 18.
He had a double-double of 26 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Brujos (#11, 0-15), the league's bottom-ranked team 84-77. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Ahuachapan maintains the 9th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. Ahuachapan is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-9 record. Brown turned to be Ahuachapan's top player in his first season with the team. Columbus State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Brown is in league's top in points (5th best: 22.6ppg), rebounds (5th best: 14.0rpg) and averages solid 59.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jerry Surrency III (183-G-2002) of Brujos Izalco. He is American guard in his first season at Brujos. In the last game Surrency III recorded an impressive 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Brujos lost that game 77-84 to slightly higher-ranked Ahuachapan (#9, 5-9). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Brujos is still at the dead bottom 11th position. 15 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Surrency III is a newcomer at Brujos and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Noryen Lasley (201-F) of Independiente (#6). Lasley scored 15 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (!!!). Despite Lasley's great performance the Independiente lost 59-79 to the higher-ranked Metapan (#1, 13-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Independiente needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 7 victories and 7 lost games. Lasley has a great season in El Salvador. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 17.5rpg (3rd best).
